Basic, Lackland AFB,
Navy See Bee School. Point Mugu/Port Hueneme, California
Survival/ Combat Training, Field 2, Eglin AFB, Florida
Sent to Danang Vietnam July 1967- July 1968
Sewart AFB, in Smryna TN
Last 7 months at Berkstrom AFB, Austin TX.

Hey Pop Pop, I was on a MSC ship hauling troops from Korea to Da Nang, NaTrang and Qin? 1968 Watched you guys take a bounding during Tet. USNR/SS 1953-55, USAF 1955-1959 (SAC). Late post, but a salute to all vets...

Yes Bill, it got very hot, for about 3 weeks, during that time. Enemy overran the north end of the base and I was on the south end. Thankful for that, but really felt for the guys on the north end. Hauled destroyed multi million dollar aircraft to the dump for days. Ended that time with a multi billion dollar aircraft graveyard just outside my hooch.

Edited to add; I went from a 19 year old boy to becoming a man, while spending time in a fox hole during Tet.

We were anchored in Da Nang harbor and I was a member of the boat crew who took the ships Doctors over to the hospital ship to help out.The choppers were bringing in the wounded from up North. Never forget Enough. Bill
